Welcome and Introductions

Public Input

  • E2 Classes
    • positive feedback from kids
  • Kids moving at lunch again.
    • Kids are asked to move from the tables where they are eating.
    • Working on getting kids to sit where they will have more time.
  • Drop-off/Pick-up
    • Congestion in front of the school.
    • Suggestion to have the lighthouse team or after-school club could help with posters or reminding people to not park in front of the school.
  • Sprinklers
    • Playground was really swampy because the sprinklers were left on too long.
    • Now that the sprinklers are off we’re hoping it will be resolved.

HIllcrest Mission

  • Try to memorize the mission so we can help kids remember it
  • Our mission is to ensure that all students at Hillcrest are learners with the skills to meet their dreams and succeed.

Celebration Postcard

  • Poastcards should be coming in the mail any time.
  • A little outdated because they mention the public meeting on the building but they are coming.
  • Watch for them and let Spencer know if you receive one.

Building Update

  • VCBO is now working on a hard plan for the building, hoping to have it by December.
  • Review of grade-level applications and allocations of SCC funds.
  • We have $12-$13,000 available to award to grade levels for what they need to assist them with instruction.
  • Kindergarten Requests
    • Manipulates and flexible seating options for literacy centers and groups, math tubs and groups and STEAM rotations.
    • Books to teach social skills and number use.
    • Will purchase as many as can for $2,000 and can provide a detailed list.
      • Approved $2,000
  • 1st Grade Requests
    • Ipad classroom charging cart ($600)
    • Audio read-along station ($321)
    • 2 sets of Reading Mastery Instruction Guides A & B
      • Approved $1,921
  • 2nd Grade Requests
    • 30 sets of (Lichfield) headphones ($285)
    • 2 Ipads ($368 each)
      • Approved $1,021
  • 3rd Grade Requests
    • ISL software license renewal ($1500)
    • Circut machine and accessories ($333.70)
    • Ipads if there are extra funds
      • Approved $1,833.70 for Cricut anc IXL.
      • Spencer will try and figure out funds for ipads out of other sources.
  • 4th Grade Requests
    • As many Chromebooks as can be purchased for $2000.
      • Approved $2,000 (will likely be 7 Chormebook)
  • 5th Grade Requests
    • 100 Headphones ($20 each)
      • Approved $2,000
      • We request that teachers research and find headphone with more reviews and higher than a 3-star Amazon rating.
  • Speech Requests
    • 2 ipads
      • Approved $772 for 2 ipads ($381 each per district spreadsheet)
  • Discussion of benefits of countinuing to distribute funds this way including increased connection with the teachers, better teacher morale, and empowering teachers. All agree to continue to set aside funds for this in the future.
